born to be wild

it's been a crazy year for me so far and for me to say that it must be rather extreme. a little over a year ago i had an atv accident that almost killed me. during a little down time on a reality show i was working on many of us took it upon ourselves to joy ride on one of those things. it was a quiet afternoon april 1 2005 and nothing can be heard but a 700 cc engine rattling the dense South Carolina air. having grown up some in the south no one ever wore helmets or shoes for that matter and i couldn't help feeling born again on that thing. after about 20 minutes or so of letting off some steam i decided to head back to house where we had been filming and and on the way caught a ditch and flew nearly 30 feet fracturing my clavicle and tearing my coracoacromial ligament. it could have been much worse.
fortunately the injury healed rather well except the acromion juts out a little and occasional hyper extension of my right arm. i can get it fixed just right but that would involve using a cadaver ligament to replace (reinforce) the scar tissue that used to be my coracoacromial ligament which kinda freaks me out. i can see my arm doing things involuntarily based on the doners personality. all said and done when the job was over the producer had me sign a waiver stating it was based upon my own foolishness that the accident had happened and they were not responsible.
